Tangy Fruity Smoothie - a "green" smoothie
Prep time: 5 minutes
Prep notes:
Cooking time: 1 minutes
Yields: 3 people
Ingredients:
1 cucumber cut into thick chunks (peeled if not organic)
1-2 carrots
2-3 bok choy leaves (depends on size you buy - some bok choy can be really small or really large)
1/2 - 1 cup of organic berry mix (Trader Joe's has a good one with blackberries, raspberries, strawberries and blueberries)
1 small handful of Goji berries
1 Kiwi (clean and leave skin on for added fiber and nutrients)
1 lime peeled (ok to leave white pith on - great nutrients there too!)
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp Vega Bodacious Berry protein powder (or you could try another powder you have at home or just a tbsp of raw honey for added sweetness and nutrients)
Spring water
Directions:
Take all ingredients and put into your blender and blend on high. I use a Vitamix blender which is powerful, but if you do not have one, see how your current belnder does at pulverizing these ingredients. Also, I fill the water about half way up the ingredients, but you can experiment depending on how thick or juicy you like your drink.
I like some pretty green smoothies, but I think this is a good one even for beginners. It's got a little tang, sweetness and of course, some greens!!
This makes a lot to drink so you may want to share with a friend or two!! I can drink a lot by myself but everyone is different.
I hope you enjoy!!
